2013 Subaru BRZ

2013 Toyota GT 86

The anticipation is over: the new Toyota GT 86 sports car makes its world debut at the 2011 Tokyo motor show.

The Toyota GT 86 has been conceived as an entirely driver-focused machine, designed to deliver the core qualities of the classic sports car knowledge. The Toyota GT 86 measures 4,240mm long, 1,285mm high and 2,570mm wide, dimensions which create it the most compact
four-seater sports car available today.

The flat-four engine format and the driver's. hip point - the lowest of any current Toyota production model - together give the Toyota GT 86 an ultra-low centre of gravity, at just 475mm.

The Toyota GT 86's. engine is the result of a joint Toyota and Subaru development programme that brings together their technical know-how and mutual passion for sports cars.

2012 Brabus Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Roadster

German tuner Brabus has released the second model teased yesterday, the SLS AMG Roadster package.

The Brabus Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG rides on Monoblock F “Platinum Edition” forged rims which come in a 20-inch size for the front axle and in a 21-inch size for the rear one.

The Brabus front spoiler attaches to the underside of the production bumper. On the sides the Brabus side skirts make an optimal aerodynamic transition between the front and rear wheel wells.

The rear end of the 2012 Brabus Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Roadster adds even more sporty character as well: the modifications include the understated Brabus rear spoiler, the side air vents for the rear fascia and the Brabus diffuser with custom-tailored cutouts for the four distinctive tailpipes of the Brabus quad sport exhaust.

The sport suspension and the production suspension may be upgraded with the Brabus Front Lift System for added convenience.

2013 Lexus GS 450h

With a five vehicle hybrid line-up, Lexus reinforces its commitment to hybrid technology with the all-new 2013 Lexus GS 450h.

Today, the Lexus GS 450h is the world's first premium performance sedan to be equipped with a V6 Atkinson cycle gas engine and two-motor hybrid system, in a front engine rear-wheel drive vehicle.

The hybrid version of the 2013 GS 350 incorporates improvements to its hybrid powertrain and is equipped with a second generation Lexus Hybrid Drive system.

Lexus GS 450h engineers have aimed for reductions in fuel consumption and emissions, while providing exhilarating performance.

With a total system power output of 338 hp, the Lexus GS 450h will accelerate effortlessly from 0-60 mph in 5.6 seconds. The new GS hybrid also features a Drive Mode selector.

That means we could be seeing a combined gas mileage of around 30 mpg for the 2013 Lexus GS 450h, which, while still impressive, fails to beat the efficiency of many diesel rivals sold overseas.

As a result, Lexus is now reportedly developing a ‘downsized’ hybrid system for the GS, which will allow it to compete with more fuel efficient diesel models. The Lexus exec also reiterated the automaker’s stance of backing hybrid technology rather than diesel when it comes to economy.

The fact that Lexus wants to boost the appeal of its 2013 Lexus GS luxury sedan is no secret.

In Autocar’s words, the GS “would offer the M5 a genuine rival for both performance and dynamic ability given the driver-focused developments in the all-new GS’s chassis.”

According to an earlier report, the LFA’s 552-horsepower V-10 would indeed fit in the GS engine compartment, but there’s no clear indication as to how much the 10-cylinder would be detuned for sedan duty.

It’s harder to pin down the handling and “feel” parts of a car without seat time, but early impressions of the base GS appear to be favorable (stay tuned for our First Drive of the new 2013 GS lineup this Friday).

2013 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet

The new 2013 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet may accelerate from 0-60 in as little as 44. seconds and achieve a top-track-speed of 177 mph, while the 911 Carrera S cabriolet may reach 60 mph in as little as 4.1.seconds and has a top-track-speed of 187 mph.

Combined with lower weight, the new 911 Cabriolet models share the longer wheelbase, wider front track and the new electro-mechanical power steering of their Coupe siblings, ensuring the open-roofed models offer more sporting driving characteristics, greater precision and agility compared to the prior model. The Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet features a 3.4-litre. engine generating 350 hp (257 kW), driving the rear wheels through a seven-speed manual transmission.

The Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet offers the seven-speed Porsche Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (PDK) double-clutch transmission as an option, delivering even lower fuel consumption and shorter acceleration times.

The Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet models go on sale in the UK on March 3 2012. The 911 Carrera Cabriolet is priced from £79,947, the 911 Carrera S Cabriolet from £89,740.

2013 Ford Escape

Debuting at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show, the 2013 Ford Escape comes with a 168 hp 2.5-litre 4-cylinder as a base engine, with an all-new 173 hp 1.6-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder as well as a 237 hp 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder available as options.

Ford unveiled the new Escape today, calling it a Smarter Utility Vehicle, a play on the SUV acronym.

Although Ford already manufactures a hybrid Escape, the Detroit-based automaker has decided to offer other, more fuel-efficient Escape options to its customers.

Ford managed to improve the Escape’s coefficient of drag by 10 per cent compared with the previous generation, and claims that the Escape will be the most fuel-efficient vehicle in the compact SUV sector.

The Escape’s design makeover results in a vehicle that looks — and is — lower, wider and longer than the outgoing model. The new Escape is available in four trim levels that adopt Ford’s global small vehicle nomenclature.

Along with the new trim levels come two new engines, plus one engine carried above from the outgoing Escape. The base “S” model is powered by an better version of the 2.5-litre,. four-cylinder engine which carries above from the previous Escape.

2013 Volkswagen Passat Alltrack

Depending on the market, VW will offer the 2013 Volkswagen Passat Alltrack with turbocharged petrol and/or diesel four-cylinder engines. Buyers may also order the car with either front-wheel drive or 4MOTION all-wheel drive.

Aside from the 30mm higher ride height, the Alltrack may be distinguished from the Passat wagon by its grey exterior door handles and the matching mouldings on the wheelarches.

Now, Volkswagen is extending the model series with another specialist: the Volkswagen Passat Alltrack.

The LP550-2 Spyder will be the third two-wheel-drive model sold in the U.S. behind the LP 550-2 Bicolore and the LP 550-2 Coupe. It’s also the third Spyder, which now joins the LP 570-4 Spyder Performante and the LP 560-4 Spyder.

Lamborghini claims the LP 550-2 Sypder will need just 4.2 seconds to accelerate from 0-62 mph, while its top speed is limited to 198 mph.

The first rear-drive roadster convertible from Lamborghini Diablo SV since 1998, the LP550-2 Spyder is rear-drive version of the LP560-4 ragtop for somewhat less money: $ 211,995 (plus a yet-determined gas guzzler tax) versus $ 232,095.

2011 Volkswagen Beetle R Concept

Volkswagen may say the 2011 Volkswagen Beetle is more masculine until its blue in the face, but the Beetle will always have that stigma of being driven by those who truly used the standard flower vase found in the last-generation New Beetle.

While VW is mum on power output, the all-wheel drive Golf R makes due with 256-hp so if the front-drive Beetle R were to reach production, it would have to slot in below VW’s new halo car.

Design flourishes on the 'R'. concept include wider bumpers and wheel arches, racing seats, four exhaust pipes and engine-cooling air intakesIt's. a fair assumption that given the Beetle shares a platform with a Golf, the Beetle R will be powered by the Golf R's. turbocharged 2.0-liter. 4-cylinder engine, which produces in the region of 270hp.

If you appreciate the styling of the 2011 Volkswagen Beetle, you’ll probably like the looks of the Beetle R even more.

If Britain’s Autocar is correct, the Beetle R will see production if there’s a positive reception for it in Los Angeles.

Since the VW Beetle shares a platform with the VW Golf, building a Volkswagen Beetle R won’t require a significant amount of engineering.

2012 Audi A1 Sportback

The latest entrant in Audi's. A1 lineup is the five-door version of Audi's. A1 supermini - the 2012 Audi A1 Sportback. In the five-door avatar, the A1 Sportback weighs 1065kg, around 25kg more than the three door A1, owing to the two extra doors in the Sportback.

Globally, the Audi A1 Sportback will be offered with the same engine range that drives the three-door - a 14-litre. turbo petrol four-cylinder, 14-litre. turbocharged and supercharged four-cylinder and a 16-litre. turbodiesel four-cylinder.

Audi has released details and pictures of its 2012 A1 Sportback – the five-door version of its Mini rival.

The three-door A1 offers only optional roof arches in a contrasting colour.

For the three-door A1, the company selected a 90kW 14-litre. turbo petrol four-cylinder, 136kW 14-litre. turbocharged and supercharged four-cylinder and a 66kW 16-litre. turbo diesel four-cylinder.

In Europe, the entry-level Sportback will cost about $1550 more than the base three-door.

The Audi A1 Sportback comes standard with four seats. The Audi A1 Sportback also features many high-end solutions in terms of controls and infotainment, including Audi connect. The two 14-liter. TFSI engines produce 90 kW (122 hp) and 136 kW (185 hp). The 2013 Honda Fit EV has been unveiled at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show. The Fit EV is based on Honda’s light car, called Jazz in AustraliaThe.

Honda told that the Fit EV's. MSRP is $36,625 with an estimated lease priced at $399 a month. The Fit EV is powered by a 20 kWh lithium-ion battery and a 92 kW (equal to 124HP) coaxial electric motor sourced from the FCX Clarity.

Honda says that in Econ mode, driving range may increase by as much as 17-percent compared to driving in Normal mode, while Sport mode is claimed to "significantly" improve acceleration.

Honda's. Fit EV is an all-electric version of Honda's. sub-compact hatchback with an estimated combined city/highway range of up to 76 miles using the EPA's. testing (according to the EPA, the Nissan Leaf would reach 73 miles). In the city, Honda expects a maximum electric range of 123 miles.

Acceleration improves significantly when in Sport mode, adding to the Honda Fit EV's fun to drive nature.

In addition to the 3-mode driving system, the Honda Fit EV includes interactive coaching features designed to assist the driver in maximizing battery performance and driving range. The 66. kW, onboard 32 amp charger allows for convenient recharging of the Honda Fit EV.

The Honda Fit EV carries a familiar chrome front fascia that is similar to other Honda environmentally-responsible vehicles like the FCX Clarity fuel cell electric vehicle and Insight hybrid. The Fit EV features illuminated meters that alert the driver to key vehicle functions including state of charge, battery usage and driving range.

Honda will try the Fit EV with the City of Torrance, California Google Inc. and Stanford University as a part of the Honda Electric Vehicle Demonstration Program. Each program participant will provide Honda with real-world feedback on the Fit EV.

2012 Porsche Panamera GTS

The 2012 Porsche Panamera GTS has been unveiled at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto ShowShort. for Gran Turismo Sport, Porsche says the GTS is the “purist member” of the four-door Panamera familyPowered. by a 316kW/520Nm 48-litre. The power unit in the new Porsche Panamera GTS is a modified 48-litre. naturally aspirated V8 engine, delivering 430 hp (316 kW) at 6,700 rpm, trumping the engine in its Panamera S/4S sister models by 30 hp (22 kW). Deceleration on the sporty Panamera is provided by the superlative braking system of the Panamera Turbo.

To achieve these enhancements, the engineers increased the nominal engine speed by 200 rpm in typical sports engine construction fashion, the GTS's. eight-cylinder engine achieves maximum output at 6,700 rpm. The full speed range was extended by all of 400 rpm, the maximum engine speed is 7,100 rpm. The control of the GTS power unit is handled by a modified and upgraded engine management system. 2013 Infiniti JX

Enter the 2013 Infiniti JX, a three-row seven-seat crossover that aims to fill that hole in the brand's. lineup.

Like Hyundai’s other new designs, the Azera now features the brand’s “fluidic sculpture” design, which has helped the automaker sell a significant number of cars since it was launched on the 2010 Hyundai Sonata.

Like Hyundai’s other recent models, Hyundai did what it could to reduce weight wherever possible. From what we may tell, Hyundai will offer the 2012 Azera in base and Premium models.

Hyundai engineers have developed an impact-reducing seat system for the Hyundai Azera. This seat system eliminates the need for active front head restraints and is expected to reduce head and neck injuries by 17 percent above the front seats in the previous generation Hyundai Azera, which had active front head restraints. Hyundai Azera has a Vehicle Stability Management (VSM) system, which optimally manages ESC (Electronic Stability Control) and the Motor-Driven electric Power Steering (MDPS).

2011 Subaru BRZ Concept STI

The 2011 Subaru BRZ Concept STI represents the next step in lightweight performance sports cars combined with the race-bred refinements of STI, a performance brand of Subaru.

The concept car employs the totally new Subaru "FA" BOXER™ engine exclusively designed for the RWD BRZ sports car.

The lightened Subaru BRZ Concept STI features an STI-tuned suspension, Brembo™ brakes and unequaled 18-inch wheels and tires. Compared with other Subaru models, which already feature a low center of gravity and optimal weight distribution, the engine in the Subaru BRZ STI Concept sits even lower. The first RWD Subaru, the production Subaru BRZ will begin production in spring 2012 as the only mass-produced front-engine, BOXER engine rear-wheel drive sports car in the world.

Combine that low engine mounting with a carbon fiber roof and the BRZ STI should have one of the lowest centers of gravity of any production car, according to Subaru.

2012 BMW M5 UK

For more than 25 years the BMW M5 Saloon has defined the high-performance saloon segment, in the process becoming the most successful car of its type in the world. The heart of any BMW M car is its engine, and never more so than with the new BMW M5.

Monday’s suck. Just in case you need a reminder, the 2012 BMW M5 drops last year’s V-10, in favor of a twin-turbo, 44-liter. V-8. Power is up from 500 to 560 horsepower, and torque gets a boost from 380 to 502 lb-ft,. with peak torque available from just 1,500 rpm.

2013 Jaguar Xkr S Convertible

The 2013 Jaguar Xkr S Convertible embodies all the characteristics that have always defined legendary Jaguar GTs - explosive performance, involving handling, relaxed comfort and discreet luxury - while taking Jaguar into a new performance echelon.

2012 Chevrolet Corvette Daytona Racecar

This 2012 Chevrolet Corvette Daytona Prototype will race in the Grand-Am Road Racing Series next season, making its competitive debut at the Rolex 24 at Daytona International Speedway on January 28.

Four teams will run the Corvettes, the No. 90 Spirit of Daytona Racing, No. 10 SunTrust Racing, No. 99 GAINSCO/Bob Stallings Racing, and the No. 5 and No. 9 Action Express Racing teams.

Other than a few Corvette styling cues—including a split rear window!—littered around the carbon-fiber bodywork, the prototype car shares nothing with a roadgoing Corvette. Four teams have been announced as running the new Corvette: Spirit of Daytona Racing, SunTrust Racing, GAINSCO/Bob Stallings Racing, and Action Express Racing.

The Corvette Daytona Prototype is scheduled to try at Daytona on Nov. 16, with Corvette Racing's. American Le Mans Series drivers Oliver Gavin and Antonio García sharing duty in a car fielded by the Spirit of Daytona Racing team. Four teams will campaign the car in 2012: Spirit of Daytona (one car), SunTrust Racing (one), Gainsco/Bob Stallings Racing (one) and Action Express Racing (two).

"The IMSA GTP Corvette Prototype campaigned by Hendrick Motorsports in the '80s. was the inspiration for this new Chevrolet Corvette Daytona Prototype. And, like the GTP Corvettes, the new Corvette Daytona Prototype contains several styling cues from the street version of the Chevrolet Corvette".

2012 Toyota Prius C

Toyota Motor Sales, USA,. Inc,. will offer a fuel-efficient hybrid at a more accessible price once the Toyota Prius c joins the Prius Family of vehicles in the spring of 2012.

This highly anticipated subcompact member of the Prius Family will bring Toyota's. renowned Hybrid Synergy Drive® technology to a new segment of buyers once it joins the third-generation Prius Liftback hybrid vehicle, the versatile new Prius v midsize hybrid vehicle and the Prius Plug-in Hybrid model, which will also debut next spring.

As with other Prius models, Toyota Prius c combines its revolutionary Hybrid Synergy Drive® with excellent aerodynamics to achieve outstanding fuel efficiency. Making premium technology available to compact-car shoppers, the Toyota Prius c offers superior fuel economy in a stylish, user-friendly package.

Appearently, the Prius C will be marginally more efficient than the larger Toyota Prius, which uses 3.9 litres/100km on the combined cycle under Australian standards, information we know due to preliminary Japanese fuel consumption tests.

This will manage to create the Yaris-sized Prius the most fuel efficient petrol-powered car in Australia, and more than that, it will also be cheaper than the standard Prius, becoming the most affordable hybrid in the country if it undercuts the $29,990 Honda Insight.

According to preliminary Japanese fuel consumption tests, the Prius C will be marginally more efficient than the larger Toyota Prius, which uses 39. litres/100km on the combined cycle under Australian standards.

Toyota Australia will confirm pricing closer to the vehicle’s local launch next year.

The Toyota Prius C is powered by a 15-litre. petrol engine and a high-output electric motor, although Toyota is keeping precise specifications and performance details under wraps for now.

2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe

The first official images of the 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe surfaced online last week, ahead of the car’s world debut at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show in January.

Starting with the base 20-liter. four-cylinder engine, peak output has been lifted to 271 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque. The 38-liter. V-6 meanwhile gains 39 horsepower and 29 pound-feet of torque above the pre-facelifted Genesis Coupe, with its final figures pegged at 345 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque.

In. Korea, Hyundai told both engines may be ordered with either a six-speed manual transmission or an eight-speed automatic.

Hyundai has also confirmed that the 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe gets an upgraded 38. liter V6 now with 350 hp. The new Genesis Coupe is probably the cheapest way of getting 350 hp, an eight-speed transmission, and rear-wheel-drive.

2013 Ford Mustang Boss 302

A new hockey stick graphic featuring reflective stripes is added to the new Boss, calling back the 1970 Boss 302. 2013 Ford Mustang Boss 302 and Boss Laguna Seca models feature new School Bus Yellow paint, honoring Parnelli Jones'. 1970 Trans-Am championship car prepared by Bud Moore.

The reflective stripes on Boss come to life once lights hit them, similar to how they did in 1970 on the 2013 Ford Mustang Boss 302. Boss Mustang has new signature lighting, with standard HID headlamps and LED-surround taillamps.

The new Mustang Boss 302 includes Ford SYNC®, the voice-activated in-car connectivity system, as a standard feature. Working in concert with the suspension upgrades, Boss 302 receives unique, lightweight 19-inch black alloy racing wheels in staggered widths: 9 inches in front, 95. inches in the rear. In back, standard Mustang GT brakes are upgraded with a Boss-specific high-performance padcompound.

Joining the new 2013 Ford Mustang lineup is the new Boss 302. The reflective stripes and hockey stick graphic in particular mean something to Mustang enthusiasts,” told Dave Pericak, Mustang chief engineer. Power for the 2013 Ford Mustang Boss 302 has been upgraded to 444-hp with a maximum torque of 380 lb-ft of torque.

2013 Ford Mustang GT

The new spy photos clearly show the 2013 Mustang's. new GT500-esque styling. Further changes include a reshaped lower grill opening and a Boss 302 style lower chin spoiler.

Ford is expected to release the first official photos of the 2013 Ford Mustang in just a few weeks so stay tuned!

Three optional V6 wheels – an 18-inch polished aluminum set, an updated 18-inch painted aluminum and a 19-inch painted wheel design and a new theme for the V6 Performance Package. The 2013 Ford Mustang GT’s 50. liter engine will now develop 420-hp – up from 412-hp. The 2013 Ford Mustang GT also gets the new GT Track Package, which is only available on the manual GT Mustangs with a 373. axle. The package also adds the current Brembo Brake Package, with 14-inch vented front discs, 19-inch alloy wheels and summer performance tires.

More aggressive design
"We are delivering a more distinctive and emotional design presence that celebrates the total performance of Mustang," told Darrell Behmer, Mustang chief designer. Also new for Ford Mustang design are standard high-intensity discharge (HID) headlamps on both V6 and GT cars. The new Ford Mustang offers a revamped wheel lineup, ranging from the standard 17-inch wheels for V6 all the way up to 19-inch optional wheels on the GT and V6 Performance Package. With updated designs, the wheels also offer new finishes and touches for a more powerful appearance.

Three optional V6 wheels include an 18-inch polished aluminum set, an updated 18-inch painted aluminum and a 19-inch painted wheel design, with a new theme for the V6 Performance Package.

New driving technologies
The 2013 Mustang with 50-liter. engine will now deliver 420 horsepower. The new Ford Mustang may be specified with a six-speed SelectShift Automatic™ transmission. This advanced control strategy offers the driver a choice between fully automatic operation and manual control. This capability makes the Mustang knowledge sporty yet smooth. With SelectShift, manual control is actually manually controlled .

A new option, the GT Track Package, debuts for 2013 for customers who want to push their Ford Mustang even further at the track. Available only on manual GT Mustangs with a 373. axle, the package gives track enthusiasts an engine cooler, upgraded radiator, performance friction brake pads and the same Torsen® differential that's. on Mustang Boss 302. Other optional package updates for 2013 include offering the Brembo Brake Package on both manual and automatic transmissions on Ford Mustang GT. The V6 Performance Package is now available on automatic Mustangs for the first time.

2013 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500

Ford’s new Shelby GT500 Mustang has surpassed all expectations, bringing with it a brand new supercharged V-8 displacing 58. liters and developing no less than 650 horsepower.

Yes, Ford’s 2013 update to the 2013 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 actually pushes the iconic muscle car into supercar territory, but a sledgehammer of an engine isn’t the end of the story.

A key piece of the driveline, the six-speed manual transmission, offers upgraded gears, bearings and housing so it may properly manage the torque. Note, Ford also plans to launch two new packages for the car.

Customers may also upgrade their Performance Package with an additional Track Package. The option comes with an external engine oil cooler, rear differential cooler and transmission cooler for further durability.

For the track-worthy, there’s an optional track package and “Track Apps” that measure performance statistics like 0-60 and quarter-mile times in the 2013 Ford Shelby GT500.

That last bit is important, as Ford says the new GT500’s top speed is in excess of 200 (!) mph. Chew on that, Camaro ZL1. Heck; chew on that, Corvette Z06, with your piddling 198 mph.

Overall, Ford says the 2013 GT500 has 33 percent more downforce at 160 mph than its predecessor. To address those curves, the new GT500 gets optional electronically-adjustable Bilstein shocks. It adds supplementary coolers for the engine oil, rear differential, and transmission.

A quad-tipped dual-exhaust system and two new forged-wheel designs are unequaled to the Shelby GT500.

2012 Toyota Avensis Facelift

The Japanese legendary Automaker 'Toyota' has launched the face-lift version of its Avensis model at the Frankfurt Motor Show, held in Germany, 2011.

The 2012 version of Toyota Avensis offers a luxurious, four door, sedan class vehicle with better styling and performance. The car possess an aggressive look once compared to its earlier version.

The front grille, especially the bottom part of it allows ample air-flow under the hood, through passages and air dams. More air-flow results in rapid cooling of the heated parts. Otherwise the incoming air would increase the overall drag and this drag is particularly called as Cooling Air Drag.

As mentioned earlier, the 2012 version of Toyota Avensis offers two engines in the diesel segment and one in the petrol segment. A 20L,. four cylinder, D-4D turbo-charged engine and a 22L. engine forms the vehicle's. diesel variants.

The turbocharged diesel variant delivers a power of around 124 hp, while the other power configuration delivers 144 hp.

Both the diesel engines has a six speed manual transmission system as its standard feature. The other diesel and petrol variants emits carbon dioxide gases slightly higher than the turbocharged engine.

2013 Hyundai Veloster Turbo

November 9, 2011 – Oxnard, Calif. – Oxnard Hyundai is excited to confirm, Hyundai Motor America’s CEO John Krafcik confirmed the automaker is planning a turbocharged Veloster.

The 2013 Veloster Turbo is scheduled to Debut at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show in January.

According to Hyundai, a 16-liter. turbocharged engine will power the Veloster. Oxnard Hyundai is proud to serve the greater Ventura County.

Hyundai Motor America CEO John Krafcik announced the car tonight at an event on the eve of the 2011 SEMA show in Las Vegas.

Krafcik promised the car would debut at the 2012 Detroit auto show in January alongside a face-lifted Genesis coupe. If the 204-hp number proves accurate, that would place the top-dog Veloster precariously close to the base Genesis coupe's. 210-hp figure.

At the SEMA Show Hyundai does have plans to unveil a turbocharged Veloster, but it won’t be a production car. Built by ARK Performance, the race-inspired tuner car (above) will, however, sport a 210-hp twin-scroll turbocharged 16-liter.

2012 Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG

The new 2012 Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG from Mercedes-AMG represents the third generation of the high-performance sport utility vehicle. It all began in 1999 with the 2000 ML55 AMG. The performance of the 2007 ML63 AMG was in the sports-car league.

Power for the 2012 Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG comes from a 5.5 liter V8 biturbo engine making 518-hp at 5,250 rpm with a maximum torque of 516 lb-ft between 1,750 – 5,000 rpm. The AMG Performance Package also adds an engine cover genuine carbon fiber, calipers painted in red and the AMG Performance steering wheel in Premium leather/DINAMICA.

The 2012 Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG, which is 99 pounds lighter than its predecessor, also gets something called the ACTIVE CURVE SYSTEM for active roll stabilization. The 2012 Mercedes ML63 AMG will hit U.S. showrooms in the first quarter of 2012.

The AMG Performance Package also includes an engine cover in high-quality genuine carbon fiber, calipers painted in red and the AMG Performance steering wheel in Premium leather/DINAMICA.

Power delivery to all four permanently driven wheels is via the AMG SPEEDSHIFT PLUS 7-speed automatic transmission. This system, which is standard equipment on the Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG, features active stabilizers on the front and rear axles to compensate for body roll during cornering.

The design of the new ML63 AMG exudes self-confidence, athleticism and power. AMG styling dominates the front view. Sporty character and premium quality define the interior of the high-performance SUV from AMG. This is evident in the standard designo premium leather AMG power sports seats offering excellent lateral support, as well as the four-spoke AMG Performance steering wheel.

The distinctive instrument cluster with color TFT monitor, AMG welcome logo and AMG main menu is exclusive to the Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG.

The standard designo features on the Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG include premium leather upholstery on the AMG sports seats.

To address those concerns, the 2012 ML63 AMG features many advanced features and changes, ranging from shedding 99 lbs compared to the outgoing model, to 4MATIC permanent all-wheel drive, which distributes engine power at a ratio of 40:60 to the front and rear axle, AMG-developed sports suspension with AIRMATIC air suspension, independent damper struts, automatic level control and Adaptive Damping System (ADS), which are all combined for the first time with

Active Curve System, which provides active roll stabilization.

To that question, AMG answers with a high-performance braking system with high fade resistance, featuring ventilated and perforated brake discs at all four corners. The ML63 AMG addresses that in spades.

The AMG front fascia is integrated into the distinctive front fenders, which are 0.4 inches wider on each side than the standard ML in order to accommodate the larger AMG alloy wheels.

To that, Mercedes-Benz and AMG have made changes to enhance the experience for all occupants, including style and functionality changes. Other features include a seven-inch display, 4.5-inch instrument cluster display, power lift gate, multi-color ambient lighting, power sunroof and heated and active ventilated front seats.

Further active assistance systems such as Active Lane Keeping Assist and Active Blind Spot Assist are available as additional equipment.
